Vibing Now · New focus

Where the Mask Ends

A borrowed name, a carefully chosen alliance, and a woman who knows how to read the room.

We’re following the performances, household schemes, and questions of freedom beneath the disguise.

A new focus, not a closed journal.

The mask may get her through the door.

Where the Mask Ends begins with a bride swap, a nearly dead husband, and the sort of family arrangement that should probably have required independent legal counsel.

Wei Rao needs someone else to take her place at the wedding. A-Chou has the right face, a family to protect, and very little reason to trust the people offering her a way out. So she steps into the marriage—and into a household full of people who think they already know exactly who she is.

What makes this fun isn’t just the mistaken identity. It’s watching A-Chou learn how to use the role she’s been given.

Against the Current

The closing readings are in. The journal stays open.

Against the Current has finished its run as our current Vibing Now feature. Its readings remain available in episode order, with their individual spoiler boundaries intact.

The two closing readings remain separate pieces, not a new combined essay. Future writing and the developing Lin Jinqi pack do not have to be finished for the journal to stay open.
