What is C-drama fandom?
C-drama is a widely used English-language shorthand for Chinese television drama. C-drama fandom includes people watching in China and around the world, but it is not one single community with one set of rules. It can happen in group chats, comment sections, watch parties, fan edits, reaction posts, recommendation lists, collections of favorite images, and quiet private enthusiasm.
Some fans follow an actor across projects. Some arrive through a genre such as xianxia, wuxia, modern romance, suspense, or historical drama. Xianxia

Wuxia
Martial heroes, codes of honor, wandering fighters, rival schools, and the moral world known as the jianghu.
Historical and costume drama
Palace strategy, family power, political stakes, romance, mystery, and period-inspired worlds. “Costume drama” is a broad viewing label, not a guarantee of strict historical accuracy.
Modern stories
Romance, family, workplace, youth, crime, suspense, and slice-of-life stories turn everyday choices into their own form of high stakes.
